Disney Distilled Episode #29

Greetings Distillers! Ryan & Mac have ventured far and wide to bring you news from around the Disney World!

All the juices juice and the booze it hums, in the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum!

This week, our featured drink is the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum featured in BOTH Trader Sam’s!

Ingredients:

2oz dark rum

1 ½ oz coconut cream

11/2 oz pineapple

1oz orange juice

Crushed ice

Garnished with cinnamon & nutmeg

Directions:

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled. Serve over crushed ice and garnish with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Disney Distilled Episode #26

Our featured cocktail for this episode is the Sakura Gin & Tonic!

The Sakura liqueur we found in Tokyo makes for a delightful addition to the standard Gin & Tonic!

Ingredients:

3oz Gin
4oz Tonic Water
2oz Sakura blossom liqueur
Maraschino cherries

Directions:

Combine gin, tonic water and liqueur over ice. Garnish with Maraschino cherry.

Disney Distilled Episode #24

Greetings Distillers! From the dog days of summer, Episode #24 of Disney Distilled brings you Disney booze and news that you can use!

The Dill Gin & Tonic, served here in a very non-traditional way, can be found on the menu at the Carthay Circle Lounge!

This episode, we head back to Disney California Adventure- to the Carthay Circle Lounge for a Dill Gin & Tonic!

Ingredients:

2 oz. gin
1⁄2 oz. pickle brine
3 oz. tonic
Dill frond, for garnish
Lemon twist, for garnish

Directions:

Combine 2 oz. gin and ½ oz. pickle brine in a rocks glass over 1 large ice cube; top with 3 oz. tonic. Garnish with dill frond, and lemon twist.

Since we are a bit behind on Disney news- we’re choosing to use this episode to cover the D23 Disney Parks and Resorts panel announcements and then discuss the heated subject of the changes being made to the Pirates of the Caribbean Auction Scene.

Directions:

Pour into rocks glass over ice and garnish with 2 cherries.

Disney Distilled Episode #19

Greetings Distillers! Your hosts Mac & Ryan have finally returned after a grueling October to once again combine booze and Disney news for your listening pleasure.

Our featured drink celebrates the creepy motif of Halloween- This Chilling Challenge from Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar! Be warned however, the recipe we have may not be 100% accurate, as the drink came and went very quickly!

This Chilling Challenge was served in this limited edition Hitchhiking Ghosts tiki mug.

Ingredients:

Smith & Cross Rum
1oz Pineapple juice
1/2oz Lime Juice
1/4oz Honey syrup
1/4oz Ginger syrup
2 dashes Bitters
1 eyedropper Perond

Directions:

Combine ingredients in mixing glass with ice and shake. Pour into cocktail glass with ice.

Disney Distilled Episode #16

Greetings Distillers! The Disney Distilled Podcast is back for your listening (and drinking) pleasure.

Mac & Ryan are with you once again to drink their way through some Disney News and some great Listener Questions!

To get us through this episode, we turn to the Lost On Safari- a specialty drink from Animal Kingdom’s Yak & Yeti Restaurant Bar.

Ingredients:

1 part Captain Morgan Spiced rum, 1 part Bacardi rum, 4 parts  Pangani Punch (3 parts Dole Pineapple Orange Strawberry juice and 1 part cranberry juice)

Add Captain Morgan, Bacardi and Pangani Punch to a shaker with ice. Shake and pour into glass.

We have a lot of news to cover to make up for lost time, so it’s a whirlwind tour of Disneyland, California Adventure, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, and Epcot- all before coming back to Universal Studios and the Pacific Northwest (for some #CipherHunt!

Disney Distilled Episode #14 (Part 2)

Greetings Distillers! As promised, here is part 2 of our celebration of World Showcase with our Guest Host (and mixologist) Damien!

Picking up where we left off- it’s straight from China to the African Outpost… wait- that’s not a real pavilion! But that’s not going to stop us from enjoying a special cocktail!

Speaking of cocktails, here are more images and recipes for our second part of our first leg of the World Showcase:

African Flower
African Flower: 2oz Bourbon, .5oz Amaro CioCiaro, .5 oz Crème de Cacao, 2 dashes Orange bitters, 1 twst Orange peel – Combine with ice in mixing glass and stir. Strain into cocktail coupe. Garnish with orange peel or twist

 

Radler - Germany
Radler: Half blonde German lager, Half sparkling lemonade*

 

Negroni - Italy
Negroni: 1 oz Gin, 1 oz sweet vermouth ( we used Carpano antica), 1 oz Campari – Stir with ice in mixing glass strain into rocks glass with ice or up in a cocktail coupe neat. Garnish with orange peel.

 

Golden Dream - The American Adventure
Golden dream 1 oz Galiano, 1 oz cointreau, 1 oz Fresh Orange Juice, .5 oz cream or half and half – Shake all ingredients together with ice. Strain into cocktail coupe.

Disney Distilled Episode #14 (Part 1)

Greetings Distillers! We are back for a special episode of Disney Distilled! So special that we had to split it into two parts. That’s twice the drunken fun for your Disney Dollar!

For Episode #14, we are joined by Guest Host Damien, who is our resident mixologist and fellow Disney enthusiast. He’s in house to not only discuss some Disney news, but to help us celebrate 1/2 of Walt Disney World’s second theme park- Epcot’s World Showcase!

Damien has whipped up some cocktails inspired by the lands of the World Showcase, and boy, they do not disappoint. It’s the Disney Distilled version of Drinking Around The World! Come with us as we explore the showcase of nations, and talk a little Disney news in between drinks.

Speaking of drinks, here are some images and recipes for our first stops around the World Pavillions:

Opening Shot - a morning jolt!
Opening shot: .75 oz coffee liqueur .75 Amaro Luciano – Mix chill and serve

 

Margarita - Mexico
Margarita: 2 oz tequila Blanco 1 oz Fresh lime juice 1 oz cointreau (triple sec) .25 oz simple syrup (optional) – Shake with ice strain into kosher salt rimmed rocks glass with ice

 

Norwegian Wood - Norway
Norwegian Wood: 1 oz aquavit 1 oz applejack ¾ oz sweet vermouth ¼ oz yellow Chartreuse 1 dash Angostura bitters – Combine and stir with ice. Strain into cocktail coupe. Garnish with lemon twist

 

Plum Wine - China
Chinese Plum Wine: Buy wine. Pour. – Enjoy

As you’ll be able to tell from the episode, we were having such a great time, that the show started to go long. The second will be up soon, but in the meantime- enjoy these great recipes!

Celtic Twilight Cocktail

Ingredients:

1 & 1/2 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
¾ oz Pernod Anise
1 oz Noilly Prat Vermouth
Dash of Angostura bitters

Combine ingredients in glass with ice, stir. Garnish with citrus.

Disney Distilled Episode #11

Lee is a Bay area local who not only digs Disney in a big way, but is also the leader of the popping-est swing band you’ll ever set ears on! A brief sample of their style is featured in this very episode! (A Disney staple, of course!)
